She has been involved in rare books, manuscripts, and paintings since the 1970s, starting business in Paddington, then, for thirty-five years, running Hordern House from a colonial house in Victoria Street, Potts Point. A specialist publisher and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers, the International Association of Antiquarian Booksellers and Australian Antique and Art Dealers Association, Anne is greatly involved in supporting Fine Arts in Australia.
In 2009 she was awarded the Order of Australia for contribution to business and to culture in Australia. The NSW Legislative Assembly in 2024 recognised Anne in a Community Recognition Statement, (CRS) for her work with the Potts Point Preservation Group in protecting and celebrating the Potts Point area’s unique and exceptional architectural heritage, its cultural and social history, as well as its demographics, location and amenities.
Anne lives in Potts Point and has been a longtime resident and business owner in this area. Besides being deeply involved promoting the important historical aspects and its fascinating community, she assists local charities including the Wayside Chapel. Anne has a strong commitment to small business development, a passion for the preservation of heritage architecture and an active interest in maintaining diverse, people friendly communities.
