Our Landmarks

An Extraordinary Architectural Legacy

This precinct holds one of the most significant collections of 19th and 20th century architecture in Sydney. Highlights include nine colonial mansions, rows of imposing Victorian terraces, more than 75 Art Deco apartment blocks, and 30 Modernist buildings—five of them by Harry Seidler. Anchored by landmarks like the Minerva Theatre and the iconic ‘Boomerang’ house, the area’s built heritage rivals global destinations like Napier (New Zealand) and Miami South Beach (USA). This remarkable living archive deserves strong protection from unnecessary redevelopment and greater recognition as a national treasure.
